Yo Gabba Gabba - Great New Kids Show or Utter Crap?
I'm going to admit to you right up front that my discussion of the show Yo Gabba Gabba is far from unbiased. The show was picked up right as the most innovative kids show on the planet, The Upside Down Show, was not renewed. Deserved or not, I link the two therefore have a crap attitude about Yo Gabba Gabba. There, disclaimer accomplished.
A recent article about Yo Gabba Gabba,found at www.yumasun.com/articles/says_39093___article.html/jacobs_gabba.html, sounds like it's some awesome new show, but some moms have nicknamed it Yo Crappa Crappa. It makes more sense now that I read that they were trying to go with that 70s, The Bugaloos kind of feel. OK, I see that. But in the 70s, that cheesy stuff was considered good, you know (and yes, I was around then, but I was a just a kid so I have an excuse). Now, not so much.
The show looks cheap and probably is (which is very likely why Nickelodeon bigwig Brown Johnson likes it so much). The characters are weird and the host is downright creepy. It's like one long acid trip (much like fellow weird show Boobah).
Feel free to check out Yo Crappa Crappa on your own and decide if the creators are right - did they create a show that both kids and parents can enjoy? In my opinion, the answer is "Hell no!"

acid trip
my son really likes this show but i try to avoid it as much as possible. he is a total music-head and the show is one long psychedelic music video so it makes him dance around like a frenzied monkey and i think thats why he likes it so much....have i mentioned my kid is the energizer bunny? i personally think whoever created the show is perm stuck on an acid trip. i read a blog post a while ago on some random site (Cant rememeber which ) about the the big red pickle (cant recall his name) and how if you google his name (now i feel like an ass for not remembering it) it comes up with some mythological creature that looks like a one eyed phallus and would devour small children. if that aint creepy i dont know what is.

so i dont know if whoever put that red pickle guy on yo gabba gabba is really a sicko or what the heck.....now i have to watch the show to get that character's name!
