Writing Up Down?
I don't know if any of you also post for writing up. Today it has been down like all day. Does anyone know anything about this or if this happens frequently?
I am new to this but have recently become addicted to it, and this is very annoying to have such a cool sight down all the time.

It was down a bit last night too
The site's been down for me most of the day too. I know that John is working on some things to improve the site and increase our $$. This is the first time I've noticed it being down so long though. Let's just hope he gets it up soon. I'm so addicted to that site that if it even goes down for a few minutes, I go crazy!!

I'm frustrated with the down time
I only have so much time in a day to make posts, and if it's down for a long time that's a problem. I just got through for two seconds and now it's out again. Grr.

It's amazing WritingUp is as big as it is. I think the problem is probably that they use free software and have stretched its limits.

I was actually able to get on for a few minutes and then it was down again. I can get to the main page but that's it.
I hope they get it up soon because I wanna post!
They're using free software?
And they expect to handle the huge traffic they're getting?

Yes, WritingUp uses Drupal for its blogging-engine software, same as BloggerParty. Drupal is the best around (Open Source software, not quite the same thing as what we usually think of as freeware) - but even so, with so much traffic it probably does get stretched to the limit, as Jason says. That's why WritingUp had to temporarily remove a couple of features a while back, and why they just recently had to move to a bigger server to handle all the traffic on the site.

I've been on Writing Up for three weeks and this is my first day without a post. I should have posted here instead but I was trying to post only a particular type of content in this blog. Bah!
