Writing Goals: Week of 3/27/06 - 4/2/06

accountability | goals | writing

Okay, I wrote a blog about the importance of writing goals last week.

Here were the goals I said I would accomplish:
1. Finish my current ID project - due Sunday - and get a good night's sleep (at least 8 hours).
2. Start conceptualizing book project, starting with brainstorming session tomorrow.
3. Start writing one chapter - at least 1000 words, even if it's all wrong and I have to start over.

Here's my update of how I did:
1. I did finish my project - at 5:30 a.m. Sunday night - so I met my deadline (by Monday morning) but did NOT get anywhere close to 8 hours sleep.
2. I did do some brainstorming of the book - need to make that a more measurable goal though.
3. I did start writing a chapter - but was brain fried from my project - so I only have about 250 words so far.

For this week, 3/27/06-4/2/06, I will have accomplished the following by next Sunday:
1. I will complete 1000 or more words for my book.
2. I will write one to three 60 word entries for a local poetry/prose contest.
3. I will submit three articles for publication (they are already written, so this isn't as hard as it sounds).

What are YOUR goals for this week?

Happy Writing!

My Goals for this past week

My Goals for this past week were:

1)Blog 1x/day for Blogger Party.
2)Blog 3x/week at all my other blogs.
3)Submit at least 2 more articles to Ezine Articles.
4)Start a system for tracking each blog's performance.

How I did:

2)I only did this for one of my other blogs. :(
3)Didn't happen.
4)Didn't happen.

Those are good goals to aim for. Writing goals down is important too.

Goals

I'll have to make this quick, so here goes.

Last week I said I would:
1. Write one article and make progress on at least one more
2. Notes for one of my novels
3. Finish reading book for review

This week was pretty hectic, but I did get 2 out of 3.

1. I finished one article, and I have two more in the works.
2. Two and a half pages of notes for my vampire novel.
3. Unfortunately, I didn't get much time for the book at all.

Writing Goals for the Week 3/27/06 - 4/2/06

1. I will finish the two articles I've started.
2. Write 3 more pages of notes for the novel
3. Try to finish reading that book.

Wow, great job!

You may not have finished that third goal, but great job at meeting and exceeding your first two! One article completed and two more in the works is impressive! And two and a half pages of notes, good for you.

I'm stumped on my book, I can't seem to get the gears going on this one. I might just abandon it for a while if I weren't getting paid to write it! But since I am I HAVE to get a move on!
