Writing Goals for Next Week: 4/3/06 - 4/9/06

accomplishments | goals | writing

It's that time again - time to check in on your weekly goals and see how you are doing.

Even if you are not posting them here, post them somewhere YOU will see them and be able to refer to them daily (unlike I did this week since I was traveling, and therefore forgot about one of them).

Here were my goals for last week:
For this week, 3/27/06-4/2/06, I will have accomplished the following by next Sunday:
1. I will complete 1000 or more words for my book.
2. I will write one to three 60 word entries for a local poetry/prose contest.
3. I will submit three articles for publication (they are already written, so this isn't as hard as it sounds).

Here's how I did:
1. I only did a few hundred words for my book (but I DID try - I'm ghostwriting the book and I haven't yet received any of the materials I was supposed to have, so I really had nothing to go on)
2. I completed one entry for the poetry contest.
3. I totally forgot to submit these, so I'm going to do that tonight if I can find the email address (I'm out of town so I may have to wait till I get home if I don't have it).

How did everyone else do?

Here are my new goals for this upcoming week:
1. Write one to two new articles for Associated Content or other publication.
2. Write one or two more entries for the poetry contest (I can submit up to three).
3. Send an email/call my client to light a fire to get started on this book.
4. Write one to three pages for my own book.
5. Blog 3-5 times at each of my blogs.

What are YOUR new goals for this week?

My Goals for 4/3 - 4/9

1)Blog 1x/day at Blogger Party.
2)Continue to add more content to MySpace or Yours (at least 4 new posts this week).
2)Submit a couple articles somewhere... (can you tell I'm feeling pretty tired right about now?) ;-)

I think I'm going to leave it at that... I've worked hard at blogging and promoting my blogs this week... and it totally paid off, so I don't want to put too much pressure on myself this week. :) Still I think this idea of writing your goals down is really good.

Good to hear from you!

See, even though you are tired, you still took the time to write your goals, that's great. Shows where your priorities are. We always take the time to do the things that are TRULY important to us, good for you.

I had a question, how long have you been blogging? I'm really trying to learn more about it and feeling stumped on a couple issues.

Writing Goals for 4/3/06 - 4/9/06

I thought about you this morning on the way to work. I didn't think to check here last night to see if you posted (I'm much more productive when I stay off the Internet). Anyway, here's last week's goals:

1. I will finish the two articles I've started.
2. Write 3 more pages of notes for the novel
3. Try to finish reading that book.

And here's how I did:

1. Both articles are written but in bad need of editing, so not finished.
2. Just barely got those notes done last night. :)
3. Don't ask. lol

Now for this week's goals:

1. Edit last week's articles and submit them.
2. Write one more article.
3. I will write two pages of notes this time. The last batch was really rushed, and I didn't like that.
4. This is the last week I'm putting this book on my list, and the only reason I'm doing it is because my friend wrote the book, and I wanted to review it for her.

Happy writing everyone.

goals and Internet

"I'm much more productive when I stay off the Internet" - you said it!

I know, I've started blogging more like every other day, just because I get sucked in and stay on way too long when I get on the Interent.

Looks like you're making great progress on those goals. What type of book did your friend write?

You're doing great on articles. I've really fallen by the wayside, but I need to get back to writing articles too.

Writing goals

What type of book did your friend write?

It's a medieval fantasy novel geared toward 9-12 year old girls. I actually read an early draft of it. She's made a lot of changes to it, and I know the story is good. I don't read children's/YA novels, but once I take the time to do so, it will go really fast.

You're doing great on articles.

Thanks, but I'm not going to claim that until I finish the edits. One thing I've started doing is writing before I leave for work and occasionally during my lunch hour. After a really rough day, I don't always have the energy to write anything worth reading.

It's that time again! GOALS

Okay, everyone, how did you do on your goals for last week?

Is it just me or did this week just FLY by?! I can't believe it's Sunday already.

I will post a new blog entry for next week's goals, so be sure to update yours there.

Happy writing!
