Writing For Free Can Make You Rich

Kathryn just came back from a writer's conference and told me that one of the keynote speakers, a multi published author started his career by taking a course I taught at that time for only $10.00.

Now, I will admit that teaching a complete course for $10.00 is not a great way to break into the writing world, but, just think of the free advertising this former student is providing.

Word of mouth is the best advertising. If you give a struggling person a life line, they will thank you, one way or another, eventually.

It is amazing how many writers start by writing for free and end up as editorial contributors in magazines, newspapers, web sites, etc., all because someone noticed their work and contacted them.

Just this week I offered a paying job to ten writingup bloggers.
