I write freelance articles for home decorating websites. Many of the current home decorating ideas are rather foolish. They will never work in a family home.

The idea of pasting a silk mural on a wall in the dining room may sound great, but it won't be long before little palm prints and pen marks mar the soft gold silk.

However, there are some 'tried and true' home decorating products and items. One of the best inventions of the last 100 years has been sleeper sofas.

Think about it, they turn a living room into a sleeping room. I wonder how many families could survive weddings, Christmas, and even funerals without a sleeping sofa? It has become a vital part of American life.
