Writer's Block

I am fortunate in that I have almost never experienced this set back known as writer's block. However, I have some tips that will make writing easier if you ever suffer from this frustrating malady.

Keep a notebook with you always. I have a giant purse which accomodates my notebook and pens quite nicely. I am always jotting down ideas throughout the day because I do not want to forget them and be sorry about it later.

Relax. Creativity cannot be forced. Let it come to you. Go do something else for a while, forget your troubles, and it will come. I promise.

Write on unlined paper. I know this sounds weird and is going against the grain, but to me lines represent structure and rules, and when I am in a creative mood, I don't follow rules.

Write in pen. Who cares if you mess up and have to scribble it out. Pencils represent transience, something not permanent. Do you want your words to just fade away? I should hope not.
