WP: Online music sales double in Japan

Full Track Downloads In Japan Rise 91 Percent In 2007
YO's rating: C- | Now, the Washington Post isn't exactly a blog, but if their reporters are going to write about J-pop, they need to get some details worked into the stories. Here, there are two holes: One, if the Japanese are buying all this music (full tunes, not just ringtones) on their cell phones, then why isn't the rating system Oricon including any of these numbers? Methinks that H!P songs might be among the most bought online rather than at Oricon's lapdog "CD shops." Two, the story says that a more complete catalog of J-pop is available online, but where? I would love to hit those Web sites myself! Finally, is the iPod dead already, replaced by fancy cells?
