Time for a Change

I was very sick 2 days ago (still recovering, but MUCH better now)...so I went to the doctor.
Somehow in the last 5 months I've gained 30 pounds. I had NO idea. I dont know where it went because I only bought one pants size bigger than I was wearing before.
I think I've gained the weight because I've been under TONS of stress for the last 4-5 months. Between parents, school, parents not agreeing with my relationship, a pregnancy scare, losing my job, and everyday life, things have been hectic. Not to mention I'm never home, so I've been eating out at least 4-5 times a week.
My doctor told me my blood pressure was getting too high, and that if I didn't start doing something about my weight I could get diabetes and/or other health/heart-realated illnesses.
I"m tried of being overweight. I"m tired of searching for cute plus size clothes, I'm tired of my boyfriend having to see me like this.
So I've decided to change my lifestyle. No more fried food. No more McDonalds. No more large portions. I am going to start working out at least 3-4 times a week to start off and I"ll increase to everyday eventually. At least it will be better than what I'm doing now...which is basically walking to and from my classes, up and down stairs and sometimes walking 3-4 blocks downtown.
I'm ready for a change.

Ah, McDonald's.
You aren't alone. If you haven't done so, a real good piece of insight as to how the weight gain happened is the movie Supersize Me. Grab a copy of this documentary from Blockbuster and it will shine a major light on fast food, especially Mickey D's. A definite way to help you keep your resolve to avoid the golden arches.

Supersize Me!
My husband mentioned the movie "Supersize Me" He stopped eating fast food real quick! I haven't had the chance to see it yet, but look forward to it. (he has lost 35 pounds)
Most of all when changing eating habits and life style, such a as an exercise program, start slow, take baby steps! You will stick to a diet and exercise program that fits you. Never just dive in out of stress for change and desperation, done that, and put on even more weight than before. With moderation I have kept weight off for 4 years now. Good Luck!
Thanks for the positive
Thanks for the positive comments and support you guys!
I haven't seen Supersize Me, bu tI've heard a lot about it. The last few weeks, I really havent eaten any fast food..not even once a week, so that's an improvement.
I think my main problem is portion sizes. The other day I ate 4 slices of thin crust pizza. Just last night I had 2 grilled chicken fingers and a baked potato and was completely full. So I think I can do this...I just have to get out of my bad eating habits, as being in college, I'm fairly active.
