Worried About US

We are worried about what is happing to our country, as the Congress rejects the $700 Billion "Bailout Bill."
The Congress is supposed to represent "We the People," and they seem to have sacrificed the American economy to uphold their "Free Market Ideals."
It is unfortunate that the "Mortgage Meltdown has occured, but the idea was to make "the American Dream" of homeownership available to almost everyone.
The idea was to replace "heavy industry" (like steelmakers and and railcar manufacturers)with building millions of tract homes.
That is what made "Home Depot" such a success; people remodeling their houses to keep them current with the new ones being built, so as to keep their "market value" growing so as to be able to sell them for much more than they paid.
Now, the downward trend in home prices seems bottomless as there are four million new homes sitting empty and more near-new homes joining them every month through foreclosures.
