The World Cup is coming to an end next week. Clearly Brazil is the favorite. They're always favored to win. They've won most so far. To the Brazilian, it's almost like a religion with soccer. As the quarter-finals are coming to an end, the excitement builds on who's going to advance, especially with the injuries and the redcard of players. Today they had another penalty kick final: between England and Portugal and yesterdayd with Germany, the host team, and Argentina. I like Argentina's team. But I didn't care who won. In the U.S. it barely makes a dent in prime time TV. The pace isn't fast enough for the people in the U.S. to be overly excited about it. The world is in a fever pitch with The World Cup, the few times that many nations come together to compete for the same thing. With all the crap that's going on around the world today, it's always good to see that a simple thing as The World Cup, The Olympics or any other international sporting event can take everyone's minds away from the tragedy of life, the struggle of living to enjoy life. It's like the Olympics, it happens every four years and teams have to qualify in the region or continent to make it The World Cup. So it's always exciting to see the world, for a few weeks, put aside their differences and have fun, recognize one another that we're all human, struggling for the same thing.
