Work at Home Depression

Operating a home based business is not easy. After the first 'honeymoon' period is over, there is cabin fever, depression, unexplained illness, and frustration.
Cabin fever is caused by work at home professionals who do not take the time to get out of the house. On the other side is are those who spend so much time running around trying to close sales, network and meet people that they fail to meet deadlines or complete paperwork.
Depression hits around Christmas, summer vacation, and February. It is hard to watch everyone head out to the beach on a Saturday afternoon, while you finish up a project. One reason for depression is lack of exposure to the outdoors, particularly the sun. This can be solved by using a light bulb that mimics the sun's rays, or putting your desk by a window.
Some types of music can cause depression if you are trapped listening to it, alone, for ten hours a day.
Work at home professionals are often more susceptible to the flu, colds, and other unexplained illnesses. There are many reasons for this, but this threat must be taken seriously.
There are some easy ways to combat these problems. Blogging helps connect you with the outside world. Joining a networking group or breakfast group is a great excuse to get away, and it is one you can validate to non-supportive family members.
Don't hire family members. This is the quickest way to flush yourself down the drain.
If you are suffering from any of these problems then take a moment to slip outside, play a game, take a bath, go to a local coffee shop, or give yourself a treat.
