I have a day job but I also work at home. I need to organize my office space a little bit since I will be expanding my work at home enterprises. I do want to buy a new chair and I was first thinking of an antique chair and then I got to thinking of the history of furniture....and how it all parallels the progress of culture.
Western furniture originates from four sources: Egyptian, Asian(Persian and Chinese), Greek, and Gothic. Egyptian furniture dates back 6,000 years and is known for inlays of gold and ivory and also for carved supports representing animal forms. Orientals furniture is known for carving and inlays on ebony and teak. The Greeks prefered the low couch, tripod, and chairs, with curved outlines.
As the centuries progressed, more of the modern furniture came like the metal folding chairs, the Slumber chair, and bean bag chairs. Now the massage chairs are very popular. The offices are using the stackable chairs. I was thinking of getting one of those chairs since I need to think of ergonomics. I will check back at Best Furniture Online since they not only carry those but they are known for their excellent customer service.
Since I am working at home, I need to think of retirement funds and investments. I heard at one time, gas was only 25 cents a gallon and it only took a dollar to buy four gallons of gas. That was off course backed by REAL money, silver. That same amount of silver can still buy four gallons of gas. I have heard that one way to invest iis to buy tangible assetls like silver, gold, and bullion coins since they always hold their value and it is the value of the dollar going down. I know of some people who want to buy gold bars. I have heard of a place called Monex that have been around a very long time and provides all the needs for an investor. I haven't made any decisions on this yet but I heard it is highly recommended.
