Wordpress questions

blogging | website | wordpress

I'm just starting the development of my new site, and I've decided to use blogging software to do it. After some investigation and a trial of Wordpress 1.5 on my Writing Lab blog, I've decided to go for Wordpress2 on this one. So, since I know next to nothing about this software, I'd love some advice from anyone who does on plugins you can't live without (and why). The site is a work in progress (only a couple of pages up so far) but I eventually intend to migrate and reorganise the content on my old site to the new one.

WordPress 2

I'm using version 2 as well and just set it up about a week ago. I've had experience with it before, but haven't found any additions yet that I absolutely can not live without.

The LiveJournal module is handy if you have a lot of entries that you want to import. I also like some of the quote add-ons that will display a random quote from a quote database that you create.

Thanks, violettak. I've not tried the LiveJournal module. At some point, I will want to import the entries from my old blog, which is on a different server. I'll see if this module will work for that.

You may not need to download it. If you look on their website at the features of the newest version, I think it says something about how the LiveJournal module is included in the WordPress installation. I remember reading it a few days ago.
