Will Orlando Be Our Next Vacation Destination? OR Hawaii

gracepub's picture

I am considering Orlando Florida as our next vacation site. It is a fantastic place to visit. Each year more people visit Orlando for the theme parks and white sand beaches. In 2000, 43.3 million people visited the area. It is the number one tourist destination in the world. Tourism brings billions of dollars into the area's economy, opening up more opportunities to the residents than people enjoy anywhere else in the country. But, there are more things than theme parks. I want to go to the concerts. My son has already staked his claim to an airboat ride in the Everglades. My husband is going to spend the time in Sports venues. My daughter has her heart set on the theme parks. All together it is going to be a great vacation.

Despite what most people think, the local Metro-Orlando population is only 1 500 00. That is still a very small city. In fact, it is a collection of communities creating a unique urban lifestyle. You only need to visit the Orlando Vacation Home web site to see how much the area has to offer than what you originally thought.

Downtown Orlando is a mixture of historic homes and luxury condominiums . Some communities like Thorton Park, Lake Eola Heights, Lake Lawsona, Lake Cherokee, and Lake Copeland are still predominantly vintage homes. Baldwin park is a new community that has been build cira 1940 architecture. If we vacationed here, I would like to make this area the base of operations. I want to stay close to Lake Eloa, and attend a festival or outdoor concert. I would also intend on getting hubby to invite me on a romantic gondola ride.

I would like to go in time to catch the Soul2Soul: Tim Mcgraw & Faith Hill concert this summer.

We might be able to stay with my hubby's uncle. He is about 45 minute drive from the theme parks in a countryside very similar to the UK with rolling hills and oak trees. This is the horse breeding country.

My son would never forgive me unless he took an airboat ride across the Everglades. Of course, I could take a quick drive to the city and take advantage of some of the shopping.

I am not done researching Orlando - but, it looks like we are going to have the best vacation of our lives.

Here are the places I would like to stay in Hawaii

I also took a look at a Maui Condo and homes as a vacation spot. It was a lot less expensive than I anticipated - and far more beautiful.

My first pick: Hale Nani Loa Maka, in Kolea Villa, is a 3BR/3BA penthouse located at the Waikoloa Beach Resort. Now, here is where I want to retire, this 2500 sq ft place sleeps 6, has private elevator access, gourmet kitchen, an overlooks Anaeho'omalu Bay and Kileaua.

Second Pick: Hale Ke Kai, is about the same size but is a two-level private home in Kailua-Kona that sleeps 8 people. It come with a full-sized kitchens and lanais on both levels, two master suites, a private wading pool, and is 'at' the ocean coastline.

If you want to stay only 30' from the beach then there is a corner-unit condo located on the third floor of the Mahana at Kaanapali Resort in Maui.

I can't say whether I would ever be able to stay there, but now that summer vacation is on me, I have been thinking about a great vacation. Dreaming is for dreamers, this vacation wouldn't be any more expensive than a trip to Disney, especially if I can get a group together.
