I blog for Hotelsbycity, I write on Mylot, I have pages on Ryze and Facebook ... hey, I am all over the place. But not my face. I have a really hard time coming up with a photo of myself that I feel accurately represents who I am, in all my different facets.
Some people have really creative profile photos, with them peeking around the corner at the camera or something. I see them and I think 'What a great idea, too bad I didn't think of it.' Others, like the guy on his San Diego accounting firm website, chose a picture that they think makes them look distinguished. His hand is in the air, he is in the middle of a knock-your-socks-off presentation, and he wants the whole world to know about it. I don't have such a distinguished photo of myself (and as a rule, I don't do knock-your-socks-off presentations).
So what's a gal to do? Seems I'm not creative enough to come up with the next best idea before someone else does, and I certainly don't want an 'all business' photo. So, I'm stuck. Which is why you see little shadow heads or question marks for my profile photo on most sites I'm with. Although I have also been known to stick a cartoon guy up or something.
