If you are a good mother and a good educator too it's o.k
Not to mention...
Teachers today are not taught /what/ to teach, but how to teach. This is something parents do with their kids all the time, learning how to teach that is. From the time our kids are newborns we the parents quickly learn what works and what doesn't when teaching our kids. So who's going to do a better job, the person who has never seen your child before the first day of school, or the person who has been with your child all their life? Don't get me wrong, I had several good teachers as a child, and my son has one or two, but most teachers today just don't seem able to cut it.
Thank you!
I had some good teachers too, but I also had some pretty lousy ones - they were there to collect their paychecks and as long as the students left them alone and didn't get too rowdy - they didn't care what we did! I know my kids - and I think the one-on-one attention they get from being homeschooled is best for them. I realize it's not for everyone - but for my family - it is definitely the best choice.
