Who Polices the Police?

Probably everyone has heard of the Better Business Bureau, which catalogs complaints about businesses. Until receiving a web release today, I had not heard about RipOffReport.com, which operates on a similar concept. It documents complaints about businesses or individuals who "rip off" customers.

But the Rip Off Report is in the midst of controversy as complaints are made, including concerns that there is no system to check the legitimacy of consumer reports.

If you check out the Rip Off Report, do so with a cautious and critical mind. As when doing any internet research, look for other sources to back up what you've read. Just because you read something on the internet doesn't make it true (I guess that even goes for my blog)!
