Which Side Are You?

Too far to the left, too far to the right
The call’s been put forth, to join in the fight.
There’s no middle ground, so quick grab a flag,
Morality and God packaged neatly and tagged.

And what side to take, should you not want to choose,
You’ll be labeled and marked, proscribed to refuse.
You can’t go halfway, or sit on the fence,
For you’ve just made a choice and taken a stance.

So heed to the promise of eternal life,
And separatist judgment, a God given right.
Absolutes are found in the great book of life,
To stray or to question, is straddling a knife.

Or are you confused and wanting to know,
Your enemy’s heart, intentions and soul?
What drives your passions, your quest, and your needs?
Hidden reticence, not wanting to be freed?

Which side to take, while practicing free will,
the north or the south of the decency hill.
Remember to choose and close off your mind,
For there are no half ways, at this date and time.
