Where is the Outrage?
Where is the Outrage?
Where is the outrage? The American people are just not angry enough about how this White House administration is leading this country. Are republicans so adamant about supporting this republican president that they are willing to just ignore his blatant incompetence? Unfortunately, most of the democrats are too concerned with the upcoming elections and how they might look (to a set group) to do stand up to this administration. Our patience with the catering to big business and the wealthy at the expense of the middle class and working poor should have us infuriated. What will it take for the great citizens of this nation to demand honest people to represent us in local government, Congress, Senate, and the White House?
Where is the outrage for going to war because of numerous lies and false accusations? This current administration arrogantly goes on the air repeatedly and all but admits they lied. Then, they justify it by saying well it is too late because we are already committed to the campaign. Over 17,000 of our men and women have been killed or injured for the agenda of a select few, and many of us say nothing. Anyone who speaks out about this war is automatically labeled anti-American. We have become so afraid of our family and friends viewing us this way that we keep our opinions on the issue to ourselves. This silence only feeds this administration’s agenda. A large percentage of Americans still believe Iraq had something to do with “911?. Some great patriots are still holding on to the idea that a nuclear plant is going to be found in a bunker after over three years of US occupation. This is the same country that asked for Bill Clinton’s head on a platter for his affair with an intern, but we go to WAR for imaginary reasons and say nothing!
Where is the outrage for a leader who used promises of security for all Americans as a platform for re-election, and then allows his staff to leak a CIA agent’s name? Then, authorized illegal wire taps supposedly for our protection. However, just months before he gave a speech specifically stating that he would follow all the legal procedures in any matters regarding wire tapping. We have no way of knowing who was actually monitored or for how long. Next, he championed the purchase of East Coast ports by Arabs. Not to imply that all Arabs are enemies to the United States because that is not true, but why? It is laughable to think with the track record of the present White House staff that we could get a truthful answer to any question! Sadly, we do not have enough representatives in the House asking these questions. If they are asking, it is hard to see any answers or investigating. How can we have our soldiers in Iraq fighting for another country’s democracy when our rights are being trampled on here in the states?
Where is the outrage for a government in the 21st century that allowed thousands of people to die in the Gulf Coast? It took less time to get to Iraq after the war was declared then it did to get to the Gulf Coast. Once the federal government finally decided to go to the aid of the evacuees, they immediately got in the way of a lot of volunteers that were already helping. They stopped nurses and doctors from entering areas where they were most needed. National Guardsman stopped trucks of food, water, and other supplies from getting to the Superdome. Sheriffs and deputies at gunpoint turned African American women, men, and children around on a bridge out of LA. Some sick people died on that bridge, after making it to what they thought was safety. Then to spin the bad press that was coming out of the Gulf Coast, “the powers that be? made villains out of a lot of heroes. Stories released of people stealing boats but no mention of the men who used those boats to rescue many others. Tales of Wal-marts and grocery stores being broken into; however, not one word of how the women and men distributed water, food, clothes, formula, and diapers until they ran out in the Superdome. We can spend a trillion dollars in Iraq, but we can’t create housing for Rita evacuees here in America. It is not a black thing. It is not a white thing. It should just simply be the right thing. Where is the outrage? Where is the
