Where Do Old Blogs Go?
Old generals, so they say, never die. They just fade away...
I Wonder What Happens To Old Blogs?
Sometimes I come in more than once a day to read blogs and am amazed at how many have been added just in the short time I have been away. One blog site, in particular, receives so many entries, that they seem to be scrolling off as you read them. They multiply so quickly, you cannot begin to read more than a tiny portion of them as they fly by.
Did you ever wonder where they all go?
I know that you can bring them back up if you know the title, or author, or a keyword, but they must be out there somewhere.
Sometimes I envision a long, long room filled with filing cabinets along every wall. Young people are rushing about filing the new blogs as they arrive and bumping into each other in their haste. The file drawers are each 20 feet long and most are already so full that the filers have to struggle to wedge the newest entries into the drawers.
And this room is only one of thousands.
Does anyone ever clean out the drawers and delete the outdatede blogs? For that matter, how many of the blogs have never been read by a single person? All the pouring out on one’s soul, sharing the joys, contributing comments and information, ranting, paying tribute; is it all for nothing?
What will happen when cyberspace is full?
