Actually, Wasilla wasn't the only town in Alaska to charge women for their rape kits - there were a couple of other very small towns that did the same thing. But when the Alaska State Senate wanted to pass a bill that outlawed charging women for rape kits all over the state, Wasilla was the only town that protested and tried to stop the law from being passed.

There was a new article about it up on CNN.com today that said that it was the Wasilla Chief of Police who was the main guy resisting the new bill. But it was also Palin who cut the budget to the point that Wasilla didn't have the money to pay for the rape kits. And yet, she somehow found the money to build a big fancy sports arena that the town didn't need and rarely uses. And it's hard to believe that Palin, as Mayor, did not know that her Chief of Police was fighting the State Senate over the passage of the bill. Of course, this is all "supposedly." Naturally, we can't get any real answers because the McCain camp is spreading lies faster than anyone can ferret out the truth.
