What's the deal with my Adsense?
I checked my Adsense account, like I compulsively do, to see if I have earned any pennies. It said that I had 11 impressions and no clicks. How is this possible if I have received a large number of reads? I would think that sharing with Bloggerparty meant that I received 50%. That means that I should have at least 16 impressions, just from the one entry I posted today. Maybe I am confused on how this works.

'fraid so
An "impression" means somebody read your blog. Counted in persons not hits. If somebody hits your blog seven times (as during a comment sequence) it's still only one impression. A "click" means somebody clicked on one of the ads tied to your blog. I average about 1 click for every 400-500 impressions. Most BloggerParty readers are "insiders" who are unlikely to click on ads - and if they do it often and nonselectively, they might be violationg AdSense's Terms of Service. Traffic from outside BP will be needed to get those clicks, IMO.
I understand about the
I understand about the clicks. It's just funny that up until just a few days ago, my page impressions were in the 100 or so range. The past two days, I have barely broken 20, but I have the reads to indicate that it should be higher.
I've noticed
Bloggerparty seems to have hit a down cycle in new traffic. I dunno if an advertising campaign ended or if it's just stuff like myspaceoryours' blog was bringing in a lot of "current event" traffic that has not been replaced or what. I use the alexa toolbar and check traffic rankings on alexa.com with some regularity and definitely for about the last week the traffic has not been what it was earlier in the month. At least based on this not so scientific method of measure that's the best thing I've got for the moment.
For anyone who's interested the alexa toolbar is great as is the traffic information they provide. According to my alexa toolbar as of right now blogger party's traffic rank is 67,304. That's pretty damn fantastic for a site that's still less than three months old I think.
Anyway, if you wanna help build traffic through improving bloggerparty's alexa rank go download the alexa toolbar! It's easy to find at http://www.alexa.com
Bringing traffic to BloggerParty...
I've always wondered how you could tell where Blogger Party's traffic was coming from... I have site meters on all my other blogs, so it's easy to tell where I'm getting traffic from there (mainly search engines)... but on here, I never know if it's just the same people reading and re-reading my blogs or if there's people from the outside reading as well... do you know if there's a way to tell?
And besides downloading the alexa toolbar (and writing yet ANOTHER "Is your ex checking you out on Myspace")... what else could we do?

Adsense policy confusing ...
... and extremely limiting. There is no real standard to what an "impression" and "click" are. Their definitions aer set by Adsense, and those calibrations change with the wind because of all the devices bloggers employ to increase impressions and clicks. I seldom click on any ads on Bloggerparty even if the opportunity looks like something I might actually buy. The reason is that I joined an organization through a Bloggerparty only to receive a stern warning from Adsense to cease and desist clicking on any colleague ads.

Impressions & Clicks
As I understood it, which I may be wron, an impression is how many "oppurtunities" you have to get clicks. My average page impression amount for one day is 155. This does not match my number of reads. I have a total of 20-something clicks thus far. I totally agree with JohnnyP when he says that he feels like his number should be higher with as many reads as he gets. We definately do have a lot of "insider" traffic. I know that Brenda has been working on promoting our site more - technorati & digg.
If you personally want to work on additional traffic you can do a few different things:
1. Make a free web site that directs readers to your blogs. Gain readership & hopefully get extra clicks. 50megs offers a really nice free site. No hosting charges or anything. You can complete it in less than 10 minutes. I have a 50megs web site for modeling and I have gotten tons of response from it. I plan to set one up called "Realitychecks Hot Debates" that shows a few of my most popular blogs then directs readers here to post comments, read more, etc.
2. Post ads wherever. For example, sites like craigslist offer the opportunity to post things under the "community" section or in "groups". Groups is like bloggerparty but it's unpaid. I don't like it but it's very popular. It should be easy to get traffic from there or like sources.
If everybody here took 5 minutes to promote the site I think it might be worth it. I would like to hear any other ideas if anybody has them.
Hi realitycheck
nice to see you over here at BP
I'm by no means an expert on tis, in fact I'm learning everyday
From my experience, to gain traffic to your blog, you need to appear in a high ranking position in Google searches. To achieve this it is important to add relevant tags and keywords to the boxes whenever blogs are submitted
I recently editted another blog I do, just to see what happens, and suddenly appeared, nay practically FILLED the first page of the Google search!
So completing those boxes correctly is VERY important and I wish I'd only realised this at the start - I could've saved alot of work
Also, as most of my posts contain a photograph, which is linked to flickr.com, I have a link from there to BP (it was to writingup up until today, but obviously when people click on that link, in most cases they're going nowhere lol) - so I've spent ANOTHER couple of hours updating that site too
Anyway, there's a couple of ideas - hope I'm telling y'all how to suck eggs mind you
See ya later!
