We're just about to do some redecorating and we're in a bit of a quandary. We've moved from a house with only a few windows to one with hundreds (or at least 20-odd, lol). In our old house we had wooden blinds and I really liked the look of them. However, I decided that they really were not practical in the new house, because the one annoyance was trying to open windows when the blinds were down. The window locking mechanism made the window blinds go out of alignment and I had to contort my fingers to get the key in, unlock the window and get it open. Then I had to do the whole thing in reverse at night.
That was enough of a pain with just a few windows, but now I don't want to have that bother. Instead, I've decided to go for roller blinds and roman blinds. They look nice and can go up and down with one pull - no fiddling around with locking and unlocking windows. Of course, it would have been too simple for the supplier to have all of the sizes and all of the colors in one shop. Instead, I had to traipse around to three different outlets before I could find the blinds in the right colors and sizes for our rooms. Now, all we have to do is put them up.
