What Tasks Do You Hate to Do?
What Tasks Do You Hate to Do?
Yesterday's blog entry Nagging Wives and Reluctant Husbands talked about division of tasks in a married household. Today I want to know what task you hate to do that you really SHOULD do on a regular basis.
I'm not counting the kinds of things you can put off forever, like putting photographs in albums or cleaning out your closets. I'm talking about the stuff you really have to do often, like at least every week.
While I resolutely Swiff my floor every night (the Swiffer is the best invention ever), empty the dishwasher only a day or so after it's done washing (a little procrastination never hurt anyone), and clean out the toilets (at least before guests come over), the one thing I hate is laundry. I don't mind sorting it, putting it in the washer, tossing it in the dryer, and pulling out damp items and hanging them up. What I hate hate hate to do is fold the remaining laundry.
Therefore, my laundry room is full of baskets of underwear, socks, pajamas, towels, and other things that probably should be folded right away but it doesn't matter if they aren't. Eventually it gets to be mountainous, to the point where I have to wonder how we could possibly own so many clothes. And of course eventually I have no other socks, so I have to root through the pile and try to find a pair that matches. It's a huge pain in the rear, but that doesn't inspire me to fold the damn stuff and put it away. This winds up beign one of the tasks that my husband often takes on while I work on my latest article.
So, what tasks do you put off until they can't be put off any more?

I hate ironing
I don't mind doing laundry but if anything needs to be ironed, it will probably never be worn again if I am the one left to do the chore.....I am also not a great cook. I do however clean a mean house and tend to a pretty nice garden! :-)

Oh, well, I didn't even consider ironing
We just buy clothes that don't need to be ironed. If you get stuff out of the dryer and hang it up while it's still damp, you can get away with not ironing a lot of stuff :)
I totally fail at ironing. I'm terrible at it. And my dislike for cooking has already been stated in this blog.
