Truck racks are to trucks what luggage racks are to cars - but bigger and badder. Truck racks are huge arrays of metalwork that make any truck into a super-duper working machine. I certainly could have used one the last time we moved house, because we had loads of sheets of plywood from our bookshelf and a truck rack would have been a good way of carrying those easily. Instead, they slipped and slid around the inside of our van, bashing into different bits of furniture.

I'm thinking of getting an SUV. Mostly because I'm tired of other SUV drivers scooting past my modest compact as if it didn't exist. I want to be the one carving up the roads - and a truck rack would certainly help the image.
