What is your 'horror' scope for the New Year?

fortune | future | Happiness | horoscope | starscope

Living in this new century, we have erased our beliefs about witchcraft and fortune telling. Yet, we still flip through pages of the periodicals and dailies to look for the horoscope.

I have met people who would refuse to do something on certain days because they believed in their 'horror' scope. I said 'horror' because these people were horrified what would happen to them should they disobeyed the scope.

The Chinese, in fact, do not really believe in horoscopes. However, when I was in a bookshop, I happened to see that the best sellers of the month are books and magazines on scopes or horoscopes of the new year.

This is the year of the Earth Rat according to the Feng Shui Masters. I don't know what is the outcome for me or anyone else as today is only the 31st day of the year. There are still 335 days to go.

At least, I'm sure that reading all these materials will not boost our country's economic situation. It will not have any effect on our business too, assuming that we are running a business. Even if there will be some similarities, as the book is written in general, we must not take it so heartedly.

Nobody knows what we want except ourselves. We are our own driving force. Horoscopes could become our 'horror' if we stuck to the advice given. Life should not be lived as in a horoscope almanac!

Trust yourself to do things right. Have faith in yourself. Be a possibility thinker. If you have problems, look for the solutions. Focus of the solutions and not the horrifying thoughts of failing. Then, this is indeed a good year for you, despite the gloomy forecasts and the 'horror' scopes you read!

I read mine once a week (not every week, mind you) but don't live my life by it. Most people don't really, either. But, we do have a facination with the future and that can only be blamed on mistakes made that we wish we had some sort of "sign" to prevent. I simply find them amusing and sometimes reaffirming. The one I read comes out on Wensday - so if I'm already having a good week and it says "be prepared for a good week", I think "Ok, good for me!". But, if it says "keep an eye out for things that do not mean you well", I think "Well, that sucks" and go on with my day. Looking out for such things are what we do anyway!
So, it's all really just in good fun.
