What is With These GAS PRICES???

economy | gas | Israel-Hizbullah Conflict | oil | politics

So I went on a Job hunt a few days ago and not to my surprise the only jobs in my area are minimum wage and at best part time. I have lots of debt and am looking for a way to pay it off. While I was filling out the part of the application where you list how much you want an hour and how many hours you want I realized that minimum wage in my area is $6.85 and with my limited experience I could possibly get $7.00. At 40 hours a week I would only get $280 A week (before taxes) and since all the jobs are about 15-20 miles away from my house and I use a horrible car that guzzles gas I would probably use about $35-$40 a week in gas.(a whole tank lasts about three days) It just seems like I will never get up out of this debt I only be able to pay the minimum on each bill. I feel like i am going to be working to buy gas so I can work.

So I can't help but wonder who to blame. I think the blame rests on more than just one person or just one group of people. I think it goes beyond President Bush. I think a bunch of people who just want money (not just DEMOCRATS or REPUBLICANS but BOTH parties) know Americans will buy gas no matter how much it costs because their life styles demand cars, and gas to keep the cars running...most of them can't get around it (for instance Families need vans, they can't all ride bikes). It is my opinion that a lot of influential people have taken advantage of our inability to change our circumstances. That is just what I think but, I would love you know your opinion!
