What Is All The Fuss About Twitter

OK, I have heard a lot about twitter so I decided to join it but so far I can not for the life of me see what all the bloody fuss is about. Would one of you guys please explain it in such a manner that this dumb Aussie could understand it.

I suppose it might be better if I had some friends. If that is the case my twitter account is http://twitter.com/AussieSire and I am not all that fussed about who wants to be my friend.

I signed up for Twitter almost 2 weeks ago, I think. In that time, I've seen traffic increase to my regular blog more than double. Because, whenever I write a blog entry (not this blog, but my other two blogs), I say something short about it, then post the link. I've gotten some followers from who knows where, and I've added some of them as well as others that I follow. It's just short updates of what's going on at that moment, or what's on your mind at that moment, and you never really know who's interested in what. So, just say something every once in awhile, post a link to your blog when you write something (but don't name the blog; too many characters to do it often) and be intriguing, and, well, you never know.

just post your link, and Twitter will change it to a tiny.url once you hit enter; no html needed whatsoever. But your link still counts as characters, which is why you have to keep your preceding message short.

but knowing it's converting on its own works for me. That way, I don't feel so bad posting my link, since they're kind of hiding it so that it doesn't look so blatant.
