What if you only had a Moment Left?

Too many people are thinking of security instead of opportunity. They seem to be more afraid of life than death.-James F. Bymees

We are taught to plan for the future, invest for retirement, live for the moment. We are told it's the future that's important; don't worry about the here and now. But the end is an eventuality for all of us, no matter our placement or position. We fret over being able to afford that new car a year from now or take that necessary vacation a routine two weeks every year. We cling to our money, our time, even our life. We worry over trivial matters of time and possessions. We careless about the people we claim so much to love, we throw tantrums to ensure we get our way. We claim we've learned to love but we only love ourselves. We are the most important people in our lives.

How would our views, our life, ourselves change if we knew we had a moment left to live? If we knew when our life we end, what a difference that last moment our life would make. We'd realize that we could no longer procrastination any decisions of where we'd spend eternity. Maybe we'd cringe at the way our life was spent. Or perhaps our pride we keep us from admitting our mistakes. Or maybe knowledge of our death would change our way of living, we'd focus more on people rather than how to make more money or add to our possessions. Our energy would be spent loving instead wanting, understanding instead of judging, living for eternity instead of for the future.

No man knows his hour or day of death. We naturally assume we have all the time of the world. Everyday we hear of dead and dying elderly, adults, teenagers, children and infants. No one is immune; the angel of death doesn't take a holiday. As the Bible says, ‘we are appointed to die but once.'

If you had just one more moment to live....
Only you can fill the blank.
Leave nothing unanswered.
