Apparently this will be the last season of the Sopranos. The first episode left everyone hanging wondering if Tony would still be alive in the second episode. I heard one of the most interesting theories while watching Cold Pizza on ESPN. The show kills off Tony in either the next episode or the following episode and brings in.... Al Pacino. Then I began to think how awesome that would be see the Godfather and Tony Montana as the bew boss of the Sopranos. Then it got me thinking about the perks of having different actors step in.

Al Pacino
Al Pacino would be a perfect fit for the show. He's been in so many gangster movies and does it so well that it's a wonder how he goes out and does his research. This idea may only be a novelty as he's played roles like this so often that it might not be that exciting to watch him as the new Leader of the Sopranos. The idea of it is just enticing. So in that case, who could step in if Tony dies?

Robert Deniro
Deniro would also be a good fit for this role. He has played a wiseguy in many different films and to see him as a gangster is just fittingThat credit card commercial of him walking around New York made me feel like he was still playing the role he did in Once Upon a Time In America. His presence makes him a perfect choice. His recent roles in in Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers, while very funny, might not make him the best choice to succeed Tony Soprano. Who's next?

Larry Brown
Yes, Coach Larry Brown of the New York Knicks should step in and take over. The Knicks aren't doing so well. His feud with Stephon Marbury brings backs memories of the one he had with Allen Iverson awhile back. He's a proven champion. Not to mention he goes in and shakes things up a bit. I could see him playing himself as the new boss. I kid though, as interesting as this would be to see, highly unliklely and probably not the best fit. So who you ask?

Well if Tony dies and it's not Pacino or Deniro, then it's going to be big shoes for whoever comes in to fill them. Unless some big name steps in, the series is going to have to use what if he really isn't dead stories to last through all (i'm hearing) twenty plus episodes. I guess it remains to be seen. It's always fun to imagine.
