What Drives the Muslim Anger Against Us?
Does anyone ever question the the very vocal and numerous accusations by the Muslim countries, that part of their hatred for the "Capitalist West" is the foreign domination and exploitation that they have "suffered" for centuries?
The Middle East has been in Muslim control since the early 7th century when Islam developed......except for a few decades following WW I. Several different groups have been in control, all Muslim, like the Seljuk Turks and Fatamids.....until united to fight the Crusaders...and win.
Even the Mongols converted to Islam when they occupied in 1258, and the Ottomans followed suit. None of these would-be conquerers were capitalists anyway.
The occupation following WW I could hardly be classified as exploitation. Colonialism is not the driving force behind the Muslim anger directed towards the West.
Colonialism is what drove the American Revolution. It has nothing to do with anything that applies historically to the Middle East. And, once the business of war was finished, Americans and British have maintained a state of friendship, mutual allies. It is not normal for people or a country to hold grudges for centuries.....and there is some other reason why these people have been acting like raging bulls for so long.

An answer
If the question in your title reflects a serious quest for an answer, I suggest you read the following: "Hegemony or Survival" by Noam Chomsky.
It makes steps towards explaining why there is not just alot of Muslim anger vs. the US, but alot of anger in many parts of the world against the U.S.
If, that is, you really want to know.
Happy reading!

Smoke'em if you've got'em!
Noam Chomsky! He's the biggest Self-Hating American Jew that I,
and many others, have ever had the displeasure of reading! His
writings are nothing but Communist dupe-baiting fiction, IMHO.
You might as well read and agree with Louis Farrican!
Harumph,
Wolfgang
Chomsky
So, Noam Chomsky is a Jew who...hates Jews? Fascinating. Anyone else who takes anything other than a strong Pro Israeli response to the Palestine-Israel conflict gets labelled an Anti-Semite, but Chomsky's a Semite, so he's a Semite who hates other Semites. And does he hate himself as well, Wolfgang?
A perfect example of how people label the argumenter rather than dealing with the argument itself. It is technically the weakest of defenses -ie. your wrong because your stupid, for example- but it still tends to work remarkably well, as Wolfgang would no doubt breast-beatingly attest.
I don't know if NancyJ really wants to understand more about the world then what we're getting fed by the media and the status quo. I hope you do, I hope we all do. It is a first step towards positive change on this earth, understanding all sides of a conflict that has the potential to rip the world apart. If indeed you do wish to know more, nancyJ, I suggest you get your information from a variety of sources, Chomsky being one of them. He clearly cites all his sources and they're all reputable. You may not agree with him but you won't be able to call him a nut-case. Just a Jew who hates Jews. Sigh...
And Chomsky analyzes Communism and Capitalism with the same dispassionate eye, and speaks of the strengths and weaknesses of both. More labelling, Wolfgang, but why not? It saves you from investing too much thought.

That title again, in case
That title again, in case you missed it: "Hegemony or Survival," by Noam Chomsky.

No, No Noam
While Chomsky is incredibly intelligent, I feel he's gone too far to the left to maintain his credibility.
I read 'Hegemony and Survival' and afterwards had to watch 6 straight hours of Fox News commentary in order to get back to the middle!

Follow the dubious leader
Islam was spread by the sword and looks down on any infidel who doesn't buy into their mysoginist creed. This religion's 'prophet' was a warmongerer, assassin, anti-Semite, peadophile and part-time psychopath. No wonder his legacy is a tad troubling..
