I quit smoking recently, when I realised that I was becoming a slave to the nicotine companies. Very few of the cigarettes I smoked actually had anything to do with enjoyment - even perceived enjoyment that was actually an excuse.

I found it easier to quit, when I looked on it as something that required me to do absolutely nothing - not even go out of my way to buy cigarettes and smoke. Just chill and enjoy!

I think its been said often, but once the first few days were through, it actually got easier.

I still sometimes feel like I just want to light up, particularly in the first times as a non-smoker in circumstances I have smoked a lot in, but I guess it is all about how firmly one has decided.
