Browsing through the book aisles at Wal-Mart or Kroger, you will see the paperback section full of supernatural romance novels. They are hot, and they are selling. Alot of them are winding up on my bookshelf. I am enjoying them so much that I've almost lost interest in all other romance novels.

But why are they so hot? Why are books about men that are werewolves or vampires selling so much?

I have a few theories..... Or maybe it's just why I like them so much.

In the paranormal books I have been reading, the men are hot. They want sex, they crave sex, and when the moon is full you better watch out. In most of these romance novels, the werewolves are looking for their soul mate. When they find their soulmate, that's it. They are protective and faithful. And that's very sexy. What women doesn't want a man that is sexy, passionate, and faithful to them?

Since I am still fairly new to the paranormal romances, I haven't really branched out in my choice of authors. But I've been looking.

I really like Ronda Thompson, Keri Arthur, and L.A. Banks. I read one book by Dara Joy, and although it wasn't werewolf, it was about an alien. I thought it was really interesting.

Outside of paranormal/supernatural romances, I really enjoy Native American and Historical romances. I don't get into modern romance very much. Probably because in this day and age, it seems like romance is dead.
