Well, I saw this coming. Michael Vick gave a public apology today after his court hearing.
For what it's worth, he apologized for what he had done, and to his family , friends. Do I believe his apology is sincere, not so sure. Of course he is going to be sorry, now that he is caught, and everyone else involved has already plead guilty to all charges.
He has also had a chance to think about everything hanging in the balance with going to jail, his career, and all endorsements. He knows that apologizing is a have to thing right now. Whether he is sincere about it, who knows. It makes him look good in the spotlight. He isn't going to get alot of jail time in my personal opinion. I still don't think he should be able to play the game of football again though. Why should he do what he did, and be able to go back to that kind of life. He had so much going for himself, and then he does something like this. Gambling is one thing, but putting those animals thru what he did, to me is inexcusable. I don't think he should get his career back, or any endorsements to boot. That may seem harsh to some people, but harsh doesn't even describe what those dogs endured. So he will go thru the motions, like his attorney is advising him to, to make sure he makes a good impression on everyone involved. Oh yea--the other thing that was stated today concerning his public apology, he found Jesus--amen brother. Give me a break here. I don't knock anyone for finding Jesus, that is truly a wonderful thing. Don't use it as part of your apology to make yourself look good in the public eye. What--he didn't find Jesus before the dogfighting? He is definateley pulling out all the stops isn't he.
