Wedding Gifts

I have a hard time with wedding gifts. A toaster seems so boring and someone else is certain to get them one anyway, sometimes they get several and who doesn’t already have a toaster. A couple can always use more towels. However, that isn’t exciting. And the colours may clash! I could give trip to some exotic location, that would be remembered. However, that is well beyond what I can give at the moment.

I did get it right one time. I gave the couple a party game called “Host an Evening of Murder

Which murder mystery was it?

Which murder mystery was it? I have one but haven't been able to play it yet.

That is a good question!

I forget the title though I do remember the murder took place on a train!

We had so much fun that night though so you have something to look forward to. I definitely want to host one myself. It is important that you choose your guest carefully I think.

It's a challenge

Most brides use a Bridal Gift Registry - so it is easy to band together with others and purchase one of the larger gifts that they have chosen. Toasters are passe.

I don't think everyone is with the program yet

I saw several toasters still at the last wedding I was at. Though that was a coupel of years ago now so maybe things have changed. Using a bridal gift registry sure makes it a lot more efficient but takes a lot of the fun out of it too!

My Stupid Wedding Gifts

My husband and I got legally married a few years ago, but on March 4th we had a real "Catholic Wedding". It was so nice.
Anyways, we didn't use a registry because there is virtually nothing we needed since we have been well established for a long time. We hoped for money, with out having to say, "oh, just give us cash."

So we got the stupidest things. The first box we opended was a damn chocolate fountain. The second gift was also a chocolate fountain, and so was the third!!!! We also got two George Foreman Grills, a stupid egg-stractor, a Somore's (?) maker, a juicer, two toasters, a countertop grill and a fondue set!!!!!

Chocolate Fountain sounds good

A chocalte fountain sounds good. Did it come with the chocolate filling or whatever that is called? A chocolate fondue though is probably less wasteful of the chocolate.

I knew people were still getting toasters! Why? Those things never seem to fail either. My parents is an antigue now and still working well. My original toaster that I got when I first moved out to my own place is functional. Not so clean anymore but still in good working order.

Garage sale time I guess. Or maybe you could sell them on E-bay. OR even better put them away in a safe place and when your friends get married you can give them back. If your friends do the same things those things could never be used for anythiong other than gifts. "THis is a gift toaster. It doesn't even need to work. Just look impressive." This could be a whole new product line!
