Webkinz New Toy Craze

Have your kids been talking about the Webkinz toys? I had never heard of them until my eleven year old informed me that she wanted one and that "all" the girls in her class have them. She proceeded to email me a list of stores that carry the toys. She had been saving her money and wanted to go purchase one. I had no idea what the toys looked like or how much they cost. Since most of the stores on her list were Hallmark card stores, that is where we started out. To our dismay, it looked as though Webinz are really popular and had been quite picked over. We went to a couple more stores where she found a frog that she decided she wanted. I was pleasantly surprised at the price of the toys. The larger animals were $10.99 and the smaller ones were $7.99. Pretty affordable for an eleven year old with limited funds. Webkinz look like an ordinary stuffed animal, but the come wth a code that can be entered into the Webkinz website and then the owner of the toy can start building a virtual life for the animal. It is kind of neat, but parents will need to monitor it. My daughter wants to spend way too much time on the internet working on her Webkinz home and life.
