We can keep old people alive when they're dieing, but should we

We live in a world where if you're lucky, and you live in a nice country, you can be sure of a full life, but what about when you're so old , or dieseased that it's machines that are keeping you alive?

When does it switch from being a good thing, to a bad thing, when does it become curle to keep people alive, againstt their own wishes perhaps?

Should patients be allowed to decide, and docters perform a lethal injection, rather than overdosing, or more violent methods?

But then, I can assume almost everyone reading this has had at least one member of their family die...wouldn't you feel a lot worse knowing exactly how/when they're going to die? and knowing that they would rather kill themselves than face living?
