Using checkcard as credit card

Have you ever tried to use a checkcard as a credit card at Wal-Mart, just to find that it's run through as a debit card?

This would be fine, but my bank charges a fee everytime this is done. And as far as I knew there was no way around it. Until I went to K-Mart.

At K - Mart, the same thing happened. I went to run it through and it was giving me the debit card option only. But the cashier told me a trick.

When you run your checkcard through, it will give you the pin number screen. At this time, hit the cancel option. After you push the word cancel, it will give you a screen that says debit or credit. Simply select credit. It's that easy.

No more paying the bank fee for using a debit card.

So the next time I was at Wal-Mart, I tried this trick and it worked.

This might be something that everyone in the world was aware of besides me. But hopefully, this will help someone!
