Ever have a problem or issue and think to yourself, "I wish I had an instruction book for _________ right now." Well, you DO! It's called the public library. Most of us have gone to the library as kids, (my mom used to take me once a week) but have you tapped that resource lately? I stopped using the library about 8 years ago because by the time I'd get my books returned they'd be WAY overdue. At that point I might as well have bought the book in the first place...which is what I've been doing ever since. But things have changed at public libraries and they're worth re-investigating!
Most public libraries now have a web site that you can visit, and order your books online from any library that's part of the system. Then you can have your books sent to the branch nearest you for easy pick up. Plus, libraries have way more than just books! They also have cassettes, CD's, videos, and DVD's on many topics. My mom is currently planning a trip to Europe, and what does she do? She reserves several videos and DVD's about the places she plans to visit, and takes notes on the attractions that she wants to see. I recently had a dog obedience problem with my new puppy, and what did I do at 10pm last night? I placed several puppy training DVD's on hold. Once the materials arrive at my local branch I'll get an email letting me know that my materials are available for pick up! I'll also get a handy dandy reminder email a few days before they are due back and need to be returned. So no more late fees either! So if you haven't visited your local library recently, maybe you should check it out! A lot has changed in the past 5 years. :)
