Tuesday, June 27, 2006- We drove to Tupelo today for my appointment with Dr. Kalish, my Urologist. This was a follow-up of the PSA test which was 0.92. Because I thoroughly researched the internet for my treatment options for prostate cancer, and declined to heed the advice of Dr.Kalish who advised me to follow the 'tried and true' method and take hormone ablation treatments and photon radiation, thus rendering me impotent, and instead I took NO hormone ablation treatments and took PROton radiation treatments at Loma Linda Hospital in CA, rather than the photon beam radiation method , thus leaving my testicles functioning and my love-life near normal, Dr. Kalish has been less than overjoyed to see me. Today, he sent a female nurse to examine my sex organs and give a digital exam of my remaining prostate, which apparently has shrunken because of the radiation. This has reduced the pressure on my urethra and I have enjoyed a respectable stream without the need to get out of bed 2 or 3 times at night. In short, I am really doing wonderful, despite the ailments I have endured. Now, back to planning the weekend of the 4th.

Monday, June 26. 2006- We usually drive to Corinth on Monday to shop and/or to take me to the Ear/Nose/Throat Clinic for my allergy shot. JoAnn wants to shop at Piggly-Wiggly in Iuka later on so I drove in alone. The Clinic was packed but I didn't have to wait very long. We are now busy making plans for a trip over the 4th of July weekend. We will drive to Poteau, OK to visit my daughter and family, then to Vilonia to visit JoAnn's daughter and my other daughter and my son. It will be a busy, but fun time.

Sunday, June 25, 2006- new moon- Today was a little off center but ok. Just a few minor irritations. We went to see the chick-flick "The LakeHouse", with our friends, Joe and Kathy (polish name), and no one really thought it was believable, but it was entertaining. We had dinner at Ruby Tuesday's and it was enjoyable, then we stopped by Joe and Kathy's house and had desert of two kinds of cake that Kathy had cooked. It was a delicious treat, and we even brought some of the cake home with us. We are well aware of Fat City approaching, so we are trying to get more exercise.

Saturday, June 24, 2006- A short post of pleasure in rememberance of a visit this week from JoAnn's Aunt Margaret, her son, Patrick, and his wife, Vickie. They came down from New York to visit several relatives living in the south, and we thoroughly enjoyed their stay with us. We toured the Shiloh State Park and had a catfish lunch at Hagy's Catfish Hotel, off of Highway 57, just across the Tennessee State line. They were very nice and fun to be with, and we hated to see them leave. We may make a trip to New York to reciprocate the visit. Margaret is a sister of JoAnn's father, the late Lawrence Warlick of Memphis. Today has been kind of a let-down after the nice visit, and JoAnn was very restless so we invited Kathy and Joe to go with us to Florence, AL, about an hour's drive, and eat at a new restaurant, "Texas Roadhouse", which is a popular new steakhouse. It was fun, and they serve a thick, juicy and very tender filet. It was very enjoyable and it broke the post visit gloom of absence of JoAnn's family.

Monday, May 29, 2006- We are back from a trip to Vilonia, AR, and Poteau, OK. for the Memorial Day Weekend. We enjoyed seeing our kids and grandkids very much. We sometimes try to cram too much into a short stretch of time, but we try. We apologize if anyone feels left out, and we will include them in our next visit. We try.

Saturday, May 13, 2006- Please enjoy the site. I haven't felt like posting , but I'm feeling much, much better. I would say I have recuperated about 85%, and my post-op pain is negligable. My breathing is still not back to normal, but improving daily. Kristy, my daughter from OK, and her family, are visiting this Tuesday, and we are going to take a trip to Gatlinburg together. Everyone is very excited about it. We will stay Wed., Thurs., Fri., and come back Sat. The two youngsters, Addison and Braily, could change our schedule, but we hope they will have plenty to keep them busy and entertained. More later.

Friday, April 28, 2006- New posts will be sporadic for a while.Saturday, April 21, 2006- We are back home from the hospital and from all indications the operation was a complete success. Most of the post-op pain has lessened, but I'm not yet on the tennis courts. More later.

Tuesday, April 11, 2006- No post.

Monday, April 10, 2006- We spent most of the day covering the transitional odds and ends prior to any hospital stay. Hopefully it will be of short duration with no problems and complete success. We attended our Monday night pot-luck dinner held at the Activities Center, and not only enjoyed the good food, but also appreciated the feedback from many well-wishers. Tomorrow is the big day of the operation. Later, dudes.
