Update from Chateau Bird Crap

ModelMom's picture

So....I ended up typing a letter to the management of the apartment community and my husband hand delivered it to the acting manager. She told him she was very sorry, acted surprised that the situation was as bad as we were reporting (apparently the birdshit splatters on the sidewalk haven't clued her in) and then told my husband that she would be requesting bids to get this problem cleaned up. So far, so good.

We'll see how long it takes for the management to find a suitable pigeon removal service, but hopefully not long. Now that it's warm out it would be really nice to be able to go out on our balcony and grill some food without fearing that it will be seasoned by some avian sphincter.

So, now that I have worked on getting the bird poop out, I have to figure out what to do about the dog crap that riddles the grassy median outside the building (which you have to avoid like landmines whenever you step out of your car & you can imagine how easy that is when you have an infant seat in one hand and a 3 year old in the other!). I know who is letting their canine companions take dumps on the lawn, just have to think of a "nice" way to approach these girls....I've seen them letting their dogs run out, poop, and then come back in letting the dung fester in the summer heat. It smells awesome. I've seriously toyed with the idea of emptying my daughter's diapers on their front step.....but that would be ever so immature, no?

Uh.....hhhmmmm

Maybe not your daughter's diaper, but a nice pile of their own dog's shiot on their doorstep might do the trick! Maybe a note sticking out of it " Hello neighbor. Your dog forgot this on the lawn we all share. Please, don't let it happen again"
That could be awsome!

We're in a ground floor

IntricateGirl's picture

We're in a ground floor apartment. People occasionally let their pit bulls take a crap RIGHT outside my window. Because I'm at home all day, I just happen to open my blinds to tend to the plants at that moment. They usually look embarrassed, and walk on. lol

For the people letting their dogs foul the grass, I am quite tempted to go get the doggy bags that the apartment provides (right next to trash cans all over the complex), get a stick, place a sign at the top of the stick that says "You forgot this", and impale it through the bag and the poop. If the dog people don't get the hint, the apartment people will.

Win an iPod!!

What?????

That is really stupid that they won't use free poop-bags! What jerks! And, it's a shame you've had to embarrass them into keeping their dogs from shitting outside your friggin' window! So, do the stick thing!

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!! you made my evening with your suggestions and i swear i am going to do it! i'll update later! muahahahahhaha!

my complex also has those poop sacks available & finding a nice stick for the impaling & note attachment should be no problem. I might even use one of my old, mismatched forks.

ah, sweet revenge.....thine smell is lovelier than sweating dog shit on a 100 degree day!

the daily poop scoop

ModelMom's picture

so, after a little over a week of having addressed the pigeon poop issue with the management we are still waiting to hear something, anything from them and yesterday we had 16, yes SIXTEEN bird bombs on our balcony....some even artfully delivered with a feather stuck in them.....every evening I go out and clean things up because i cant stand looking at so much crap, so the 16 bird emissions were from ONE day. awesome. i didnt clean them up last night because i fully intend on taking pictures of them today. then i am marching my ass over to the office tomorrow morning and handing over an album of these piles of nastiness.

You go Modelmom

I would take pics and definately go show them. One day, and you have that much poop? There is nothing right about putting up with that crap, pardon the pun. You know, it's like them little birds know that their days are numbered, so they are piling it on thick, so to speak, making sure they are dropping by an extra lot, leaving parting gifts such as the feather here and there, lol.

parting gifts! LOL!

ModelMom's picture

that's a good way to look at it! LOL! i just get the feeling that they are thumbing their beaks at us because from what i've gathered from other tenants, the management acts really nice and like they are "on it" but then dont do anything for months. which is probably why the pigeon problem is as bad as it is.....its probably been an issue for years! ugh.

and if the pics dont work, i told my hubby that i am scraping the stuff up putting it in a ziploc and handing them a weeks worth! (although after a week i'll probably need a hefty sack!)
