Types of paidto programs:

1. Paidtoreademails(PTR) - earn a small amount of money or points for clicking on email ads. Most ptr programs also have a paidtoclick (ptc) section on the site. Additional ways to earn are paidtopromote(ptp) and affiliate pages.

PTP pays you when you advertise the programs ptp page on approved sites and receive a certain amount of money per 1000 views -this is prorated by country tiers. Click here to see a ptp page.

Affiliate pages are pages you purchase for a certain amount of months from the ptr and then advertise anywhere to earn money per 1000 views(this can range from 10 cents to 30 cents per 1000). Affiliate pages allow you to add your referral links and ptcs. See example here.

2. PaidtoSignupPrograms - earn money for signing up for free and/or credit card offers. Many of these programs are for US and/or Canada only though there are some international programs.
