Travel in Style

I've been doing a lot of travel writing this year, basically because I would like to stay in Scotland or England for a few months within the next couple of years.

I started planning early, to give me topics to write about, and learned very quickly that I saved myself a lot of grief by planning early. There are so many things to take into consideration when planning a trip that go far beyond 'do I buy cheap luggage or invest in Samsonite luggage?'

Housing is one major concern that is making me start thinking that I'd rather pay a few thousand more and stay in a hotel. There are bad hotels, but at least, if I find a bad one, I can move to another.
