Too serious about religion?
I used to teach a Sunday School class many years ago. It was in a Protestant church that I had gone to all my life. We were doing a lesson one day about the disciples of Jesus. Most if them, if not all of them, have been deemed Catholic saints by the church now. Since the kids in the class were a little bored, I thought it would be fun for the next week’s lesson if I brought in a picture book that had drawings of the disciples. Unfortunately, the only book I could find with the pictures was a book about Catholic saints. The pastor happened to come in while I was teaching and he had a big problem that I even brought the book into the church, much lesson showed pictures from the book. Am I mistaken, or aren’t we supposed to be pretty much on the same team? It’s not like I brought in the Satanic Bible to teach about Satan. It was a harmless picture book with great works of art that portrayed the disciples and other saints. I think some people take some issues way too seriously and make a bigger deal out of it than what it is.
