I am kinda having a bit of a dilemma, surprise surprise!! See,my daughter is due on February 26th. The original due date was March 1st, but at our big ultrasound she was measuring three days early....so now we are looking at a February baby! My son was due on the 4th of July and he came early....on June 25th, so I am hoping that baby girl does the same....and if she doesn't then that is where my dilemma comes in. To induce a few days early? Or not?

My aunt will be in town visiting us from Feb. 19-25th. She'll be staying with us and therefore my son will get a lot of time to hang out and feel comfortable with her. We have no family and very few friends in town, and we see our family in California only once or twice a year, so our son is just not used to being taken care of by anyone but my husband and I, and he just doens't see family enough to feel comfortable with them right off the bat. With my aunt here, he'll get to grow very comfy with her, and she is this amazing preschool teacher which just adds to the beauty of it all.

So.....I am thinking of asking my OB if she would be willing to induce me around the 23rd so that my aunt can be here and not only be a part of the process but also be able to stay with my son while I am in the hospital since there literally is no one else here that will be able to do that. And really, it would mean so much to have her here when the baby is born. She is my favorite relative and I have always loved her like a mother. I really think I want to do this, but I am surrounded by super granola moms here in Portland who would crucify me if I were to mention this to anyone outside the blogosphere....
