So here's a debate that has arose from multiple "hot-link" websites. Should we be allowed to get our music free?? Here's the problem: Many kids are downloading music that isnt free. And they're getting aressted for it. So which side did we take today??

Why should our children download music? They have to pay for it. Its the way the world works. Nothing in life is free, so our music isnt. The people that make the music get paid to entertain them. They work hard to put together these cd's and then publish them. So they deserve compensation. It makes sense to a lot of people I talk to. Places like Limewire and Morpheus should be shut down in my opinion. I think they enable the children doing this. The people who put up the website should be arrested. Not the kids. I see no reason why we shouldnt be charged for the music. If we were making it, we would want to get paid as well!

Why SHOULDN'T our children be allowed to download? The singers work hard? No. They sing. They do something they ENJOY doing. They arent shoveling poo or putting together railroads. They are singing into microphones and getting it recorded, BY SOMEBODY ELSE. Our music is something we use to express ourselves. I have songs for every different mood. I have an iPod and I'm stuck with iTunes where its almost cheaper to buy the cd's in the store than download the music! Its ridiculous. And I think that the kids downloading it should be punished. NOT THE CREATORS OF LIMEWIRE OR MORPHEUS. They might have enabled them, but they didnt put a gun to the childs head and say "DOWNLOAD THE FILE, KID". So no, they shouldnt be punished. The children need to be taught that using these websites is wrong. And its also the parents fault for not monitering. I find that a lot of parents blame things on the internet when it could have been prevented if they had been monitered!! So thats the advice from today's blogging episode.
