Three Strikes You're OUT!!

I was commenting on a blog written by Catfish just a little while ago...his blog is about some kids who beat another kid and came too close to killing her! It's a good post and deserves reading.

But his post got me to thinking about the parents of these brats from hell. I have written before about bullies and unfortunately it's a theme that needs repeating. There should be a jail for rotten parents.

1)If you are a crackhead....you should not be a parent.

2)If you think a bully is cool...you should not be a parent.

3)If you believe a 14 year old can babysit an infant...you should not be a parent.

4)If you would rather be a "friend" to your kid thereby forgetting to be the kids parent...you should not be a parent.

5)If you believe that "out of sight, out of mind" works well for you...you should not be a parent.

6)If you believe that spanking a kid is harmful to your kid...you should not be a parent.

7)If you believe that "beating" your kid is ok...you should not be a parent.

8)If you don't understand the difference between a spanking and a beating...you should not be a parent.

9)If the police show up at your house with your kid and you side with your brat...you should not be a parent.

10)If your kid plots to harm,kill, maim or hurt another human being...odds are it's your bloody fault and you shouldn't EVER be a parent.

AMEN!!!!!!!

especially on that #10. If your kid starts acting weird and starts wearing all black, and you haven't gone through their room to find the drugs or weapons, you should give up your parental responsibilities to the guy in the trench coat down the street because he just might end up being a better parent than you.

Or go the Family Guy route and let them live with the old guy with the dog whose back legs don't work. That'll teach 'em.

Brats From Hell

I agree. We were driving down a highway that went close to a rock outcrop. Suddenly, or windshield shattered. Yes, that is right. It shattered and caved in. The car swerved into a ditch. The second rock landed on the dash just inches from my face.

My husband climbed out and saw three children running away. He identified them perfectly. The police knew exactly who they were. However, nothing could be done because they were under age.

As far as I was concerned, this was attempted murder. If my husband had been driving faster. If the rock hit closer to the center of the window. If my husband slammed into the stone rock face. A lot of ifs - and I might not be here.

That is truly awful! I am sorry that happened to you. The fact that the police knew exactly who they were speaks volumes! Did you sue their parents? Most parents pay attention to their wallets...sigh.

No Kid is Too Young

To hold the parents responsible. Why weren't these kids rounded up and taken to their parents? If they are too young to charge with a crime, then they are too young to be out on their own. Kids like this need to be at home under supervision cleaning and raking rather than running around like little hellions doing whatever they please.

Our society has forgotten that children need to be supervised unti lthey reach the age of accountability. If the kids are too young to be held accountable then the people in charge need to be.

The phrase "our society has forgotten" is part of the issue in a nut shell! What about "looking out for our neighbors?" The small Island I grew up on knew everything about me...if I so much as farted in a neighbors house my parents would have heard about it before I got home! I am not saying that it's the responsibility of our neighbors...nope, what I am saying is it seems that the longer this country suffers financially, the longer our kids become less noticeable... so like most neglected kids, they find a way of being seen and heard...even bad attention, in the mind of a child, is better than no attention at all!

I've got a few more to add to your list, Sassys.

11. If you can't afford the hospital bill to have the kid delivered then you probably aren't going to be able to afford all the other bills for the kid after it gets here therefore, you should not be a parent.

12. If having a child, raising it and loving it and spending time with it is not #1 on your list of things you want to be doing, you should not be a parent.

13. If you are not married, not in a long-term committed relationship, not working at a job that pays more than minimum wage and not intentionally planning to be a single parent because you feel the odds of finding your life mate are too slim and your biological clock is running down, you should not be a parent.

14. If you are not out of high school, you should not be a parent.

15. If you think that having children will fix the problems in your relationshp or your life, you should not be a parent.

16. If you decide to have kids because all your friends, and all your favorite celebrities, and all the people on TV have kids, then you should not be a parent.

17. If you have a dog that lives in the back yard and isn't house-broken, never gets to come in the house with you, never gets taken for walks, a dog that you only see when you feed it or sometimes forget to feed because you never go outside to spend time with it, you should not be a parent and you should take your dog to the Humane Shelter.
