TheWriteKind On Board and ready to Blog!

TheWriteKind's picture

Well, here I am. I'm onboard, all set up and ready to blog. I figured that my first post should at least be non-content related and just a regular blog about me, myself and I.

I'm TheWriteKind. I'm a writer, if you couldn't tell by my name. I am a professional writer as well-I'm a reporter and a freelancer. I write about every topic under the sun, from Aardvarks to Insurance to Xylophones and Zebras. I can write medical text as well as fun, light hearted prose about the puffy clouds in the sky.

While I tend to not enjoy writing 'fluffy stuff', about the clouds for example, I do rather enjoy researched writing, where I can learn something new and turn it into text that you, too can learn about. If you have a topic you would like to see me write about, by all means, just ask! I will do my best to accommodate.

I've been writing since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. My first published poetry was printed when I was 9, and there are two of them in the same anthology. Now, I'm printed weekly in our weekly newspaper. I write most of the sports, and I hate sports, but I do enjoy writing about the different community teams we have. Our local hockey team, the Bisons, have me hooked on midget hockey. They are awesome, and I would rather watch them than my home-town team, the Calgary Flames.

Yes, dear people, that makes me Canadian, and proud to be. I'm a Prairie girl by heart, I love Alberta and will never, ever leave here. I fancy myself a small-town girl as opposed to the 'big-city-girl' I grew up being.

I have 3 children, 2 dogs, 5 cats, an ex-husband, a boyfriend and 2 step-children. I volunteer an inordinate amount of time for cadets and school council, as well as anything else that turns my fancy.

I write about my family a lot, and although that doesn't pay as much, it's something I enjoy. So amidst the posts about insurance, aardvarks and zebras, you will find some about the silly antics of my kids.
