These tags are cracking me up.

It started with "NBA Basketball". Since then it's been "blogosphere" and "andre my first dog". Actually, my first dog's name was Sam, and though I was too young to remember Sam it's all good. It's also possible that "movie ideas" is not mine, but I can't remember.

These are all tags that are or were on my blog that I didn't put there. I'm not the only one that it's happened to. I know that O'Ceallaigh had one that had "today pic with no makeup" (just guessing, but I don't think he wears makeup) and "spanking" (while the post was deservedly harsh, I wouldn't call it a spanking). There were also the words "Water bill" and "neighborly" on a post about a car. As in, "The $23,000 pricetag for this car will make me so broke that I can't pay my WATER BILL, and if the guy down the street felt NEIGHBORLY, he would buy it for me!" :D

Sure, it's a bug, but it's one I actually like. It's amusing. I think Server may be seeing a therapist, and it's a word association exercise. Check my next blog for Server, otherwise, this won't make any bloody sense.

And for those who doubt, no, I'm not being sarcastic. There's things worth worrying about. Whether my blog has a tag that says "Boll weevil" is not one of them. :D

This Tag-thing Kinda Sucks

I'm afraid it's about time for The MD to mosey on... first the Blogitive thing (which, though I disagreed with, I did understand), now this tagging thing...

I don't mind it just adding tags, but it's replacing them! In my latest post, I tried to add the terms, "Saturday Night Live" and "SNL" TWICE! I went back in and edited it later, but when I submit it, my tags disappear and new ones came in. At first, it had something to do with target marketing and lead capture, now it says four non-blondes and something else.

Luckily I have my own website, so I'm going to focus on that now. I'm considering setting up multiple blogs on it, to replace the ones I'm having to give up due to the fact that they bring in no revenue, but I'm not sure yet.

:( Well, I know where to find you, but it still sucks!

You have to see the humor in the situation, AKA be easily amused. There's some humor in referring to Gwen Stephani and Company as "four non-blondes". Maybe Server is making a cheeky "bottle blondes" reference. Or maybe Server is making a comparison to a bad 90's indie band. Or maybe Server just has some sort of unfortunate brain disease that causes it to babble about incoherent crap. lol

I think the real problem, IG ...

... is that BP is now on autopilot. Admin has already confessed that she is not monitoring this site very well, or very often, and the fact that (a) this tag bug exists and (b) hasn't been fixed in the week or more that it's been in operation, both tell me that Admin isn't likely to change that habit.

I've been told by several people, including yourself, that I need to be going elsewhere with my writing. I'm finally doing something about that. I've already warned publicly that the time is approaching for me to leave BP. I think it's now here.

I would recommend that anyone with stuff on here that they wish to keep get it archived pronto, if they haven't already. I wouldn't be surprised to see this site suddenly disappear, one day soon.

Oh damnit, OC! Does this

Oh damnit, OC! Does this mean you are pulling your stuff, or expecting the entire thing to go belly up? At least leave it up so we can follow links to your site and benefit from the knowledge here. I know we've had some pretty good discussions in the past, and I value those. I have already gone back and referred to them, and if they up and disappeared, it would leave a great big gaping hole where good conversation used to be. In other words, shoot, it's going to take me a long time to get stuff copied. lol And on that note, I do need to bookmark some places soon.

Like I said with Manodogs, if you leave, I'll follow to your next site. 99% of the writers I value have other sites elsewhere, and I would follow any of them. But I'm not happy that I have to. C'est la vie. I understand the desire to leave, even if I'm not thrilled by it.

Don't know what to expect about BP ...

... but if it's not being maintained, and it crashes, and Our Host decides it's not worth remounting ...

I'm already using this site as my prime posting area. Most of the posts refer back here. But that's likely to stop. I hope you'll shoot over every once in awhile.

Certainly I'll visit from

Certainly I'll visit from time to time. And I hope to see you at my site, although I'm not too sure the Dudes will take too kindly to your visiting a fashion site. They might think you're trying to make them into an earlier version of the word "Dude" if you catch my drift. lol

I will say for BP that I have some sort of error with my ability to change my avatar, and admin took a look at it. So far it's baffling both of us, but admin did make an effort to fix it. So I am somewhat encouraged.
